MOA, USDA renew MOU on agricultural cooperation
MOA and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) renewed the Memorandum of Understanding between U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture on Cooperation in Agriculture and Related Fields in Washington, DC on Sept. 24, 2015, carrying on and extending the projects and activities set out in the MOU signed on Sept. 22, 2009. Minster Han Changfu and his counterpart Secretary Tom Vilsack signed the MOU on behalf of MOA and USDA respectively.
Under the MOU, the Joint Committee on Cooperation in Agriculture (JCCA) shall continue coordinating the cooperation affairs, promoting mutually beneficial cooperation in a wide range of areas, particularly in food security, food safety, SPS, agricultural market, agricultural investment and trade, personnel exchanges, capacity building and technology extension, to promote sustained, all-round and balanced development in agricultural cooperation. To ensure effectiveness and efficiency, the cooperation will take diversified modes, including materials and information exchanges, personnel (scientists and experts) exchanges, training activities, symposiums and workshops, and joint publication of research findings and reports.
